When I first wrote this in July of 2010, I had just started a leave of absence from my teaching position in Florida and had moved back to my hometown in western New York. After two months of few job leads and even fewer offers, I returned to Florida and was blessed to find a teaching position at another school in my district.
Since then I have come to realize that God was pointing me in another direction – it just wasn’t in New York. God knows what He’s doing. Sometimes it takes me awhile to catch His drift.
I have just completed my first full school year at my new school and I loved it! I still long to move back to my hometown, and I will, all in good time. For now, I am working on finding happiness in my fifties through my career in education, my interest in a simpliefied life, health and wellness, and whatever I find that is fun and brings me happiness.
